  • How's Your Spring Bulbs ???

I have hyacinth, daffodils, crocus, narcissus and tate a tate showing there little heads. But all my snowdrops have disappeared . I planted over 40 three years ago. I know sometimes the birds pull them up & also mice, but it's strange NONE of them have shown.
Has anyone else's snowdrops not shown? Also what has shown?

Pop a photo on and let us all have a look at a bit of spring .

Yeras ago we planted about 60 crocus bulbs in the front garden and only 5 showed, where they went is anybody's guess,

Crocus are up, daffs are starting to make a show, snowdrops are a way off yet.

No doubt they will all flower and go over while I'm away on hols, that seems to be the norm.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

        My yellow crocus are up.

I'm going to buy LOADS of these this Autumn- and get them in- they really are so very pretty.

(plenty of bulbs still in there packets in the barn...yup- I PROMISE to have them planted out by weekend- come rain , sleet or snow)

GN- squirrels dig up snowdrops- I used to sit and watch the neighbour's snowdrops being dug up and redistributed!!. I did tell her, but she really wasn't bothered.

I don't think there's a squirrel round here brave (daft) enough to come in my garden Nicos. Jinny would eat it for a snack .

All the above bulbs up and looking good. The snowdrops have been open for 3 weeks? even managed to pick some and have them in a small vase. I was worried that there were not so many as I usually have but then realised I had split them last spring when another pot full bust into flower

I split mine last year too Stella, so now there's an abundance of snowdrops all over the garden nodding their heads. The yellow crocus are out, but the daffs and hyacinths are only just putting in an appearance and of course the tulips will be later still. I put some black tulips in two years ago and they never showed last year, so I wonder if they'll appear this year?

But they are all out in the park next door to the school??? Shame was hoping for a great display to entice peeps to join the group!!

The problem I have with crocus is not that they dont show but they dont have the strength to hold their heads up after they have had a drenching in the rain. We start with great yellow flowers and end up with a slimy mess stuck to the floor. I dont put them in any more.

Planted about 50 snowdrops last year and 20 the year before....five have popped up and are looking pretty forlorn on their own ! My crocuses in the lawn have yet to show any signs of life and some of my tulips/irises have started sprouting....

My snowdrops have been up a few weeks & now I have crocus & iris out too but no sign of any daffs or anything else other than the green stalks & leaves.

I've had snowdrops for a while now, but I'm sure not as many as I planted. Daffs have buds on and the bluebells , crocus and tulips are getting there....

I dug out all the bluebells in the strawberry bed (again, third or fourth year running) and guess what? I notice this afternoon that they are growing strong and green!
