  • How much gravel?

The path between the beds will be a total of 36 feet and 2 feet wide.

Anyone know roughly how much gravel I would need to cover this area?

    Thanks

How deep do you want it to be?
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

I think you need i cubic yard 36 X2 = 72 square ft if you have it 4 inche's deep that is 3 sq feet to 1 cubic ft that is 24 cubic ft and a cubic yard is 27 cubic ft hope this do's not confuse....jacob

I want it to be a couple of inches deep or so. There will be menbrane underneath and don't want it to show through. Might be a better alternative that's cheaper? Not newspapers though, not very attractive lol.

I think OH will understand your calculation jacob, thanks

You don't say where abouts the paths are, but if you aren't worried about the decorative side of things, look for builder's gravel, it's way cheaper than 'garden stuff'. Mind you I've even got sea shells in mine in the bottom of the greenhouse. I bought the bags from B&Q as I only needed 6, but instead of £3-4 each I think I paid around £1.50
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

If you put stepping stones in the path and then gravel around them = lots less gravel and easier on the bare feet in summer
Never test the depth of the water with both feet
