  • How do you participate in dreams

Strange topic but last nights dream set me thinking.
Do you actually participate in the action.
Or just watch from a distance.
Mine had both, at one point I was part of the action, and then I was just watch things.

    Both.
    In colour.
Last night I bumped into a friend from infant school (now an adult) and I bust into tears cos I was so pleased to see her again. I've often thought about what she did with her life but we lost touch.
She looked absolutely fantastic too....unlike me who was dashing around trying to find something important .
Then Hibou cat woke me up needing to go out, so I never found out ...

I can lucid dream sometimes,I know I’m in a dream & I can fly by puffing out my chest & going up I’ve done it about twenty times so far but sometimes I don’t remember my dreams. When I was younger I used to know I was in a dream by doing a backflip (couldn’t do it in real life) but now I know how to fly, that makes me sound a bit odd lol! Once I was in a dream in a dark house & I thought I hope Freddy Kruger doesn’t appear & he did,it was really hard to wake up,that was before I knew how to fly. It’s like I’m awake & thinking while I’m asleep.

Only once had a flying dream I could control, it was great.
It was weird I could only fly with a plate held out at arms length. Like learner swimmers with a piece of foam.
The strange thing, which I thought at the time was the plate was covered in gravey.

          I also lucid dream.
Not only can I fly, but i teach others how to fly.
Its all about having the confidence and the belief that you can fly.
If you don't believe in yourself, you'll never do it.

I can generally steer the dream in what ever direction I want, and I know if i'm in a situation that i don't want to be in, I tell myself in a dream 'Don't be stupid, its not real, its only a dream'.

I also have re-occurinmg dreams, things I see today that I saw 45 or more years ago.

One of the most annoying dreams I have is not remembering something when i awake.
I've written some of the worlds best song lines in my dreams, even told myself 'You need to remember this when you wake up'
Then when i do wake up, i can't recall the lines.

Keep saying that I'm going to take a pen and paper to bed with me.

Oh and I never seem to get the girl.... dam it.

How about the dream where you wake up and are still in a dream.
            Most unsettling.

Tried that. The few times I wrote anything down it was absolute garbage.

That’s clever,I feel like my dreams are real when I’m in it,I don’t know how to tell myself that it’s not real so I have to fly away from bad situations which is really easy now to escape bad dreams,I used to struggle trying to wake up out of them,I had a dream once where I was outside a friends & I got stabbed & I was laying on the ground dying & I wanted to wake up but it took too long. It’s interesting dreams & there meanings etc...

Is it just me or does this description seem a bit, um, saucy?

I don't think I have ever had a dream where I've been a watcher. All my dreams seem to involve me in one way or another.

If the event of a bad situation, look at the back of your hand.
When you do this, you'll remind yourself why.

Saucy, not sure why, perhaps your dreams are saucy.
In mine I was an agent in a swat team and was watching the team fight baddies.

Well the original question was about how you participated not about the content.
Content is probably a question best avoided.

I think I tend to be observing more when bad things are happening in my dreams but not always.
I hate it when I dream of work then get up to go to work feels like you’ve not been home!!
