    How do you get out of the dumps.

    We went away for a week just to chill. I was so looking forward to coming home to see my garden cos that is where my heart is.
    I had made arangements for the garden to be watered but it was obviously not enough. Everything is bone dry, especially in the gh. toms, chillis, courgettes, melon etc. have near given up the ghost. Given that I have a back problem which is driving me up the wall I am real peed orf.
    Methinks I had better go away again or give up. OH Happy days!!!!

        I was feeling really fed up - don't like this hot weather - and fed up with all the stuff the grandchildren (and their mum) have left round here. Kept asking her to sort it and finally today got really p*** off and blitzed the lot. Hot, sweaty and tired now, but feeling so much better. Your crops will come back with a bit of TLC, don't despair.

          Oh I do love you all. My woes are so small compared with some but it really got to me today. Tomorrow is another day. Yippee

              aww no. im sure they will be ok though.
              when im down in the dumps i either cook or read. sometimes it difficult because i could be really stressed but cant unwind until the littlies are in bed. once they are though out comes the bubble bath, the chocolate and a dvd of my favourite comedy/comedian. i laugh and then things arent quite so bad.

              (if its a person thats bugged me i make a sim of them on my sim game and give them a really bad life like setting their house on fire and things. totally childish but hey it makes me laugh.)

                  hmmmm then certainly a chilled night is in order. you dont need a good hiding you just need a bit of pampering.

                  also pampering wont hurt like a hiding will

                    Well you knew the answer already.
                    You post a question on the vine and all the lovely grapes pop up with some cheering answers and there you are! Job done. Happens all the time!

                          Well, when i am down in the dumps.......i just think that things could be a lot worse than they are.

                          I have an autistic son and that makes me view life very differently.

                          I am in a bit of a worry over my own plants in my polytunnel, as i havent been well, they are not getting looked after as i would like them to be........BUT ......i just think to myself....things could be a lot worse.....That usually brings me round...as does,.....


                          a big bar of choccie
                          a glass or 2 of wine
                          a glass or 2 of gin and tonic
                          a soak in the bath with candles on the go
                          a good book
                          a big breath of fresh air
                          a good look at my children (works every time :-) )
                          a good sleep


                          and the thought of wasting time. Because i havent been well lately, this is making me make the most of what i have. Embrace life with all its joys and woes............

                          You are a wonderful lady. I have read many of your posts. Give yourself some TLC (because if you are like me, you have to resort to doing this yourself as some mens brains dont know how to do this for us (dont mean to offend all MEN, just mine)

                              Snadge and I are clearly thinking along the same lines here...I've had a diabolical growing year so far (and I haven't the excuse of being on holiday or anything), and for some things its too late to try again, but...some things are doing really well and (this is the important bit)...there's always next year hun.
