  • Hello from the frozen north

Hi everybody, I have just found this site and decided to try it. I am an oldy now so energy is not what it used to be even so I thought I would try growing vegetables in containers again. Used to do it years ago but didn't have all the new seeds that are around these days, mini veg etc. Like taking photo's of the things I grow but it is not an obsession, other than that I like to keep lazy whenever I can. Call myself scrooge because I cannot stand waste and try to use whatever I can ( hate the sell by dates on food and suchlike) I use my nose and if it smells right I use it. Also use whatever is to hand in the garden, well its not so much a garden as a jungle. Do have a greenhouse though. By the way I live in West Yorks. Will be asking for advice as the year goes on Thanks for reading this, if you managed to get thropugh it that is.

Hello and welcome to the vine scrooge. I grow stuff in containers, so do many other grapes. if you search for 'container' then you will get all the threads relating to that type of growing - sounds like you will be giving us the advice though.
      Happy Gardening,

              Hi Scrooge,

Another Yorkshire lass here, so plenty of us around to commiserate with you when we have weather like this. Stay by the fire, look at the seed catalogues and plan for the perfect summer we're about to have (possibly).
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Hello Scrooge and welcome to the vine. I am growing some of my veg in container too such as potatoes as my back garden has some wire worms problem (it has not been cultivated until this past 3 years). You should be able to find lots of topic about container growing plus idea of recycling here. Enjoy your stay and happy growing .
