  • Had a bit of good news!

I thought I'd share my excitement with you all!

I'm an avid competition entrant and always do an entry for self and son. I never pay for a phone entry and only do internet - at a quid+ a throw I should co-co!

Nearly 2 weeks ago he had to go back to hospital for his own safety as his meds were not working properly and he was becoming unstable and likely to hurt himself.

I've just had the wonderful news that firstly he 'may' be allowed home for a week to see how things go and also.....something which has given him a tremendous lift.....

His entry (courtesy of me!) has won 2 tickets for the London Premier of the first 2 episodes of the New Prisoner series at the Odeon (presume Leicester Sq?)......he has sensibly decided to take his Mum as his guest!

Loved the original with Patrick McGoohan and will hopefuly enjoy the new version which has someone I've never heard of as Number Six and Sir Ian McKellen as Number Two.

Can't wait.....do I find a flashy umbrella and blazer or do I just go dressed for the weather? Never been to such a do before.

    I am not a number - I am a free (wo)man.....Yippee.....

This is not only a purely magical moment for both you and your son but a moment of nostalgia for me. On the thread 'your moment of fame' I recounted that I lived next door to Patrick McGoohan. I never for one moment realised that there is a sequel od The Prisoner. Congratulations to you and yours and convince your son that he is "not only a number"

GN - I would love to say he was just 13 but my nose would be 3 feet long so I have to be honest and admit that I am such an 'oldie' - he's 23 you can add the rest yourselves! - and it only seems like yesterday that he was a little baby.

Bren - The original was very much of its time with the cold war etc. I have absolutely no idea how the update will be applied - I've just seen a still of the village with triangular chalet dwellings, all the same and equidistant from each other. I wonder how the place will be patrolled - remember the Rover Balloons? I'm tempted to have a look to find out what the angle is - but with only a week to go I guess I'd spoil the experience of the new take. I anticipate a good version as Sir Ian is unlikely to lend his services to anything less than best.

Thankyou all my fellow 'numbers' for being excited too!

Super news all round! Really pleased for both of you
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
