  • Gardeners World Special!

    Hi all!
Just in case you didn't know there's a Gardeners World Special on Friday 13th March called The Plant Addicts with Carol Klein. I do like Carol and in some ways wished she'd got the job instead of Toby Buckland. She's so enthusiastic, it rubs off.

I'm afraid her enthusiasm is a bit much for me, and OH is convinced everytime she come on she's eating something (I think he got that idea from Let's Grow Veg), but I'll still watch the special. Thanks for pointing it out.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

A few weeks ago now,I read somewhere over on The Gardeners World website that Carol had stated that she did not want the main presenters job on GW because it would have meant spending too much time away from her own garden and nursery. Which is why presumably they have been going down there to film her more than at Berryfields of late. Now they have announced that they are going to build a new garden and not be at Berryfields anymore,I bet Carol is delighted that she did'nt take the big job.

Gardening should always be a pleasure and never a chore, only someone forgot to tell the weeds

Is this just people that are adicted to growing all plants or the somewhat scary ones who are obsessed with a particular variety? If it's the former then I'll probably watch but the other type scare me a bit by their single mindedness

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

GW has more than just flowers featured - they do veg as well, probably not as much as 'we' would like but they do cover it.

And the new site (see GW moving thread) is (rumour has it) going to be giving over to much more veg growing - hoorah

One man she will be talking to is Roy Lancaster unfortunately this man can waffle for England and thats just about one plant. When he starts there's no stopping him. Enthusiastic he maybe but I'd rather watch paint dry. Which is a shame considering how long we have had to wait for the series to start.

Thanks Piskie, glad you like it, didn't know anyone bothered reading it! I do have a problem in buying/growing enough plants to fill a stately home garden & only having a teeny garden to put them in!
