  • Garden snob!!

Is there anyone else out there who's a bit of a garden snob and finds there is the odd one or two plants that you just would not allow growing space in your beloved plot even if they were free? My hates are pink petunia's and any bizzie lizzies, what's the point of them? flimsy, demanding and not worth looking at. Oh and another one, happens to pink as well, is that pink lavatera shrub thing that councils love to plant all over the place. Hey Ho. Anyone else agree or is it just me?

I can't say it's just you - but I have no snobbery with garden flowers at all, I love 'em all, but just you try stirring the cup of tea I serve you (having made it in a tea pot with tea leaves) using the sugar spoon ..... then I must hold my hands up to snobbery

I Cannot BEAR geraniums, in any way shape or form, and have the urge to stamp on them whenever I see them.

Pansies. They just look so flimsy, like a good rain will flatten them. In my garden, whatever grows needs to be robust

I don't generally grow flowers ..................But I do grow opium poppies & keep the seeds to spread about as I think they are a very pretty flower.

Hydrangeas... They always seemed to be in the gardens of abandoned hoeses when I was little. And people always plant the wrong one for the soil they have so the colours are wishy washy, and then forget to dead head them after it rains so the flowers look like balls of mush.... Yuck, yeuch and bleurgh!
