  • Garden Re-Leaf Day - 13th March

The Vine's Twitter account retweeted (forwarded on) an event that's taking place next week so thought I'd post it here for everyone to see

Not long to go now before the first ever Garden Re-Leaf Day!

MORE updates from across the regions added WEDNESDAY 7TH March 2012 and more being added all the time!

The events list is growing, keep coming back to the site to see what's happening around the country.
Massive Potato Planting - Over 400,000 primary schoolchildren from over 16,000 schools will be marking Garden Re-Leaf day and the start of the gardening year by planting chitted potato tubers. The children will be harvest their crops in mid-June and could win prizes for their school.

Shame the weather wasn't all that nice for it today, but by all accounts it has gone well. Hopefully next year's will be even bigger.

It's a shame that this doesn't seem to have been publicised very much, the first I'd heard of it was today and it appears that there were events locally. That said I couldn't have participated mid week as it's a work day, would have thought they'd get more support at the weekend when less people are working and kids aren't at school.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Yea, it was their inaugural event so hopefully next year's will be spoken of earlier with bigger things planned and more backing from the industry. I'm hopeful for it. I only knew about it thanks to the Grow Your Own twitter feed.
