I get 6ft from Wilko's. Can't manage any bigger in the car - and they are fine for the tall stuff. Just nip them out when they get to the top.

Not home delivery but the pound shop has bamboo canes - think they might be 4ft, get quite a few in a bag

Try LBS - I bought 750 x 8ft canes there three years ago - they sell in bundles of 250 I think, though the size of bundle depends on the length of the cane. If you were closer, you could have some of mine, but I think it's just a wee bit too far to travel !

I can get 8ft canes on my bike (longways, tucked under my left leg) and I pay about 20p each cane.

You can get cheaper, but the thin ones will only last one or two seasons. The thicker ones from B&Q are worth that bit extra.

Also, don't leave them in the ground over winter and they'll last a bit longer

I bought a bundle of 25 from LBS but can't remember what they cost. Carriage charge not OTT either.
                They have a website
Canes are now entering their third year of use.

Get yerself an Ash tree. We have several of them growing alongside our house and every couple of years I lop them back (a bit like copicing I suppose). They're straight-ish and have buds/nobbles all the way up for plants to grip on to. Some of them are about 12 ft long.

I think I have too many this year - shame you don't live closer.
