    Editor's newsletter

    Had a nice surprise today when I opened my email, GYO Newsletter had announced I was member of the month, gob smacked. I don't see this as a chore, or a job, I just love talking with you all and sharing stories and advice. Maybe its because I waffle on alot! Either way, whoever thought I worthy enough, thanks, means alot to me and I will keep you all posted what GYO send me!

    Congratulations Andrewo, you deserve the honour as you have taken a lot of time to make the vine a wonderful place to be a part of. I hope whatever GYO send you, will be of use in your growing endeavours. If they read your posts then I am also sure they have a good idea of what you would like to have.
    I bet you will be like a kid on his birthday waiting for the Postman.

          Really pleased for you! I've only just got my 1st mag this month so I hope the newsletter will follow soon(unless I was supposed to tick a box somewhere???) Will look out for you!

                  You and me both WiZeR, but if you go to the home page for GYO, you can subscribe to the newsletter from there - only problem is I've tried and failed. You subscribe, enetering your E mail address, they E mail you with a return address for your accepatance, but the return address I was sent is duff - are they trying to tell me something ?

                    I'm sure Ben will be able to tweak something and get the links working. I subscribed to the newsletter in January. The link was on the home page as Rat said. I will see if I can forward the e-mail to you via your address if is there in your public profile.

                        Hi,

                        You'll be pleased to know you should all be able to view the announcement now - as I logged out - and was able to see it.

                        For those of you who missed the newsletter - i'v added a link within the announcement so you can have a peak.

                        For those of you who have had trouble confirming your email address in order to subscribe to the newsletter - i think this is the resolution.


                        I'v had a few people emailing/forwarding me their confirmation email as they can't get the link to work. The link is fine - it's just the message may split the link into 2 lines if your email is viewed within a small window.


                        The full link would look something like this
                        http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/new...com&conf=045ea


                        On your emails it may get split up so you have:

                        http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/new...nfirm&email=em
                        ail@email.com&conf=045ea


                        Because it gets split your email program will only pick up on the first line
                        in this case http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/new...nfirm&email=em

                        Which of course will error - so what you have to do is - first copy and paste the first line into your web browser (internet explorer) - then straight after copy and paste the next line - in this case the remaining ail@email.com&conf=045ea thus giving you a complete and correct link - that will certainly validate and confirm your email address and subscribe you to the newsletter.


                        Hope that helps.

                              Jennie at the top of all the sections in the forum there is an announcement about the Grow Your Own newsletter. Just click on the top link and that will bring up Januarys newsletter. Click on the bottom link in the annoucement and that puts you on the mailing list for the newsletter. All you need to do is enter your e mail address. You will then be sent an e mail confirming it. You then click on the link in that e mail and Bobs your uncle it's done! You are on the mailing list. If that doesn't work send me a PM and I shall get Ben to sort it out for you. He's very good at that sort of thing!!
