Morrisons are selling double cream at £1.00 a pint. I bought 12 pints. Some of this will be whipped and frozen for my eclairs. Some will be turned into butter for the eclairs and pastry but the rest is going to be creme fraiche.

To one pint of double creme add 1 tablespoon of good quaility shop bought creme fraiche. Cover in a jar and leave to ferment in a warm place - 20c ish -
It thickens naturally. When it is thick enough to your liking it is ready to use and store. Refrigerated keeps for a week or more.

    I failed.
Excuse me, could we have an eel? You've got eels down your leg.

Bren...I'm impressed, I didn't know that's how you made cream fresh, ya live and learn. Thanks for the heads up on the cream, Jinny and me like a bit of fresh cream.

I had (have) a very high cholesterol level. So high. in fact, that it was deemed to be hereditary. Likewise my brother.
My weakness is not eating food (I can take it or leave it and usually leave it) I just love preparing, cooking but above all the science of it.

12 pints of cream that's a lot of Irish coffees.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Blimey, that much would last me a good two or three years!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
