Seems a lot to me too Alice. I know you can get the whole 'FreeSat' set-up for �150, which is the dish fitted. a Sky box, and all the free channels. So I can't understand why it would cost more just to have the dish moved

It happens

When we moved from a "cheap" area to a more expensive one, we found the prices went up. Didn't make any difference though, we were still as poor as church mice.

Sounds expensive to me though

We did it ourselves here.

That's what I thought too Sarwix. When we had it installed last year it was only �90 and that included the dish and the digi box. But maybe that was a bargain.

Yes Snadger, I did know how much it would be before they did the work. I did try to get another quote but there was only 1 other local company and they didn't return my calls. The company who did it advertised themselves as guaranteed to beat any other quote - but I couldn't get one. And I'm in the middle of building works so I had to have it moved sharpish to let the workers get on with what they need to do. Maybe I'm just soft in the head.

That does sound a tad pricey Alice
I suppose we are lucky we have cable (Virgin/NTL) telephone/broadband/television costs us about �40 a month.

Irritating though it is to feel that you've 'had one over you', Alice, 'tis done now and you have the work done, and all is well and working (I should hope!)

You will have your beautiful conservatory very shortly completed, and be able to watch the tele too!

Whereas I look exceedingly poor...........in fact if I carried a tin around I'm sure people would stick money in it!!!!!!!Lol

Alice, take solace in the fact that now the government is spending money as if it’s going out of fashion that it will in fact go out of fashion (i.e. result in rampant inflation) at which point �175 will seem cheap. Whether we’ll be able to watch the end of the world on telly I’m not sure, have Sky signed that contract yet? b.

That's chipper Bazza!!! Of course Sky will have first dibs on the tele-visual rights of the End of the World...the BBC will have sold those off yonks ago for tuppence, with the government preparing to issue wheelbarrows for us all to carry our cash around in by the end of the decade.
