  • Dear Doctor!

    Dear Doctor,
I visited Aldi & £Stretcher this afternoon & picked up some lovely, Apricot, Gage & Pear trees. Also 2 Tayberry plants showing growth.....................then I put them all back..........................Am I coming down with something or is there a cure for this affliction?

Did you have anyone nagging you that you don't have any room for them?

It sounds as if you are already cured of your plantaholic purchase syndrome.

What treatment did you receive cos I could do with some

The cure is a bigger garden or an allotment, or if you already have one, another allotment, or if you already have two allotments, a field.
        Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
        Endless wonder.

I think it may come down to lack of confidence when it comes to growing fruit Dr Thelma. I'm not comfortable growing it at all.

Dear Doctor, I have resisted temptation over the last week or so and have not visited an Aldi, Lidl or any £ shop. Today, the big blue sign of an Aldi winked at me, and my car took control, driving straight to the store and into the car park. I was powerless to resist. Reluctantly, I got out and headed towards the entrance where, to my horror there were lots of fruit trees in a big box. I tried to ignore them but again I was powerless. A few minutes later and I was inside the store, carrying a peach and a greengage tree. The peach tree was so big (at least 7') that it was knocking against the signs hanging from the ceiling I wondered why people were smirking at me but glancing back, I could see a trail of swinging signs.
The checkout man wanted for £4.98 for them, but honesty got the better of me and I paid him £7.98 Next the challenge of fitting them into the car, into passenger seat footwell, resting on seat back, over rear seat and into boot.
I have just carried them up 50 steps and I still don[t know where to plant them.
Is there a cure or am I too far gone

I didn't have a problem until I joined the Vine. Now, every day, you place temptation on my laptop and I am led astray.........

BM ........I too was worried about where to plant them , but I thought what the hell and threw caution to the wind. Nicely bedded in now with a thick mulch to keep their tootsies warm and a stake to keep them in position .
