  • Daddy bladdy Longlegs!

It's that time of year again!

The only time of year I turn into a complete nervous wreck. The darn things are everywhere - now they're even coming in through the cat-flap

I was just sitting here reading a thread, and I heard a familiar noise. Suddenly a HUGE one flew up from under the desk, straight at my Poota screen, then straight into my face Why do they do that!!!!? They give me the willies.

Gimme a big fat hairy Spider any day!

    I'm still shivering now!

it's an even bigger shock when you see one in the bed,the thick legged ones that is,just seconds before you jump in under the duvet, then you just have to find it,so you know where it is,keep a lidded jam jar nearby for dispatching to the outside,

            Eeeeeghhhh!

I know these flies are completely harmless - but oooh 'eck do they give me the heebiegeebies.

A close colleague at my then place of work put my terror of these creatures to the test and placed one in front of me on my desk - I've never moved so quickly, much to the great hilarity of the office!, and was a quivering wreck for the rest of the day. He was sorry but also a very good work chum - and it didn't stop either of us playing future practical jokes in a stressful environment - and why not?!

And as a youngster my parents watched one creep up on me as I sat watching TV - does that count as cruelty - lol!

I quite like them, think they're quite pretty in a delicate kind of way

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Glad I'm not the only woos(s?) around. Have a totally irrational fear/hatrid of them. OH has to get them out of the room for me before I can settle. Why do they do that dive bomb thing and come traight at you? argh!!!!
Apparently I used to keep them in my pockets when I was two years old-obviously need therapy.
But I have bought one of those long handled bug removes things that catches them and the lid shuts and on a good I can get rid of one!!!

My youngest son had an interesting 'habit'! He used to eat them! Along with woodlice, and snails (complete with shells!). As far as spiders go FERGIT IT! I have faced some scary situations in the past, but spiders make me go faint. Literally! A rather large spider fell on my shoulder one day while I was at the top of the stairs, and my wife had to catch me to prevent me falling down them! Big brave boy, eh?
