Now I have said it and will say it again...grrrr bum.

For the past few months a programme keeps closing down Internet explorer. I have made several attempts to try and find the culprit but the problem remains. After googling today I followed instructions to eliminate add ons - and disabled all of them. I really am an innocent abroad when it comes to IT so how do I know if I have thrown the baby out with the bathwater.

Bren you could try using Firefox instead of IE., its easy and free to download.

I used to get the same with IE Bren - even though I have been using it since Adam was a lad with no glitches ..... somewhere between IE and Vista there was a glitch - my life is too busy for glitches - so I ditched the glitch and picked up with the Fox instead.

Piskiein and Bren (in pots) are both right.

Firefox is free to download and is much more stable to use. It does only what you ask it to do rather than IE which tries to be far too clever for its own good.

I do so love a good 'BUM', especially when it relates to IT. I once spent the day producing a 15000 word document, only to have the thrice blasted, son of a camel dump the lot for me!!! Ok, \i should have backed it up, but I still screamed pretty loud. Apparently they could hear me all over the building

Another vote for the Chrome, here. I used to use Firefox, but gave up on it when it started shutting down for no reason - on two different computers!

I use Firefox. I also use Chrome, each has their advantages. My computer is a bit of a dinosaur, and Chrome seems slower. It does behave better in some ways.
Either has to be more reliable than IE!
