I never seem to have a problem with slugs on my lottie maybe it's because I have lots of frogs.
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Luckly they don't to have touched my veggies, yet. I keep finding them in unexpected places, in the water but at the top of the water level, in the compost heap, at the bottom of plants pots. I think they're just waiting for my veggies to get bigger, then they'll have 'em.

Only four slugs and one snail!!! You should have been with me on my lottie this afternoon. Lost count!! Disturbed a pile of carp left by previous tenant and there must have been hundreds of snails! Well maybe fifty.

I'm glad you replied, RustyLady! I think I picked up about 30 this morning and I'll do another hunt after work, followed by another just before bed. The after work hunt is normally the highest yielding one. My OH thinks I need help.

              Obsessed? You bet I am!

I've started slug hunting too. I go with the secature attack method. Then the birds can come get their dinner. Found loads when i was tidying up the corner by the house, ready to put tomatos.

I started the "hunting" season as well, just one slugs but about 30 snails everyday ! I kill them with hot boiling water, and then shack the lot in my compost pile... it does work because after a couple of weeks, I can hardly found any snails around....was wondering, is the smell of dead snails put them off?! because with 3o a day..that's a real cemetery!
