  • Bit sad really...

Not much of a moaner, me. But, I've not seen much of Mr T this year. His father was very ill and then he died, sadly. All this time Mr T as toing and froing from UK to here. He has been back just over a week now, and today his doctor sent him to hospital. He has a back problem that he is very stoical about - but is not something anyone should have to live with. The consultant at the hospital has said that he will need to be in for at least a week.
I am glad that we are here, my experience of UK hospitals/doctors and pain are not good. The doctors here, on the other hand, see pain as being as much of an illness as the cause. Hopefully they will be able to help him, he is adamant that he wont have anymore surgery. Unfortunately, the medical ward of the hospital has a 'no under 16's' policy, I have 3 children who are on school hols at the moment, so I can't visit every day (and the hospital is nearly an hour away).

I just feel a bit sad at the moment really.
    Tx

(((((((hugs))))))) you are not moaning, you have a lot to cope with all at once, and having a loved one in hospital, and not being able to visit them, must be hard.
Hope everything works out ok, he will be enjoying recuperating in the spring, its a nice time to be home with his feet up, and when he is home recuperating, you will have him all to yourself whilst the kids are back at home.

I know it's hard right now....just know that theres a lot of peeps think of you and yours right now and their thoughts are with you.... {{{hugs}}} Get the children occupied in making some things that dad would like and things to cheer him up. Throw yourself and the kids into the projects to help make the time fly! All the best

To be fair, I think it is much the same here - at least, it is in my experience - I have had nothing but excellent help and support from our NHS.

see that is probably where English hospitals excel - at least the ones I have visited - as they have no such policy!

I so hope you are feeling better soon

Thank you everyone for your support.
Today is another day, and I will now just get on with stuff as usual. I don't tend to dwell on things too much. Yesterday was a 'bad' day anyway, regardless of everything else!

On the up side, I bumped into a friend who.s husband is a sheep farmer (while waiting to go into hospital) and she felt so sorry for me she has said her husband will deliver my manure - even though it is lambing season. And Lidl have seeds at last (we even have Lidl in France). Hopefully, I will be able to get my farmer friend to help me chop the 8 trees that need to go before I can plant this year too......

thank you for your kind thoughts.
                          Tx

Hope things get better for you all soon Tootles.
Cant be good when Mr T is away and you and the squids cant get to see him, but I do know that the French health system is fantastic, so he is in good hands.
Now look forward to your manure being delivered, getting your seeds from Lidl's (I have one near me too) and work out how to get them trees down.
                            Cheer up Mrs.

Big hug and sympathy on their way to you xx

I miss my hubby when he's out at work for the day (11hrs)- so I think I know how you must feel...and I bet he's missing you too.

Can you take him some photos which the children can make into an album/scrap book with bits stuck in it so he know they're thinking of him?
It'll give them something to do over the hols- he'll enjoy it whist he's on his own-and you'll be glad you're pleasing him.
You could even take photos of him in hosp!!! ( and the kids will be able to 'see' him)
Just a thought...sort of 'Whilst Daddy was in Hospital' project.....

                              Glad you've got helpful neighbours
