  • Anyone had problems ordering from Thompson & Morgan?

    Hi all,

Just an enquiry about T & M, I ordered some seed potatoes from said supplier 11 days ago and have heard nothing since, they have taken the money so I assume the order has gone through, emailed their customer service people and again have had no reply. Has anyone had trouble ordering recently from T & M or is it just the time of year when we are all doing the same thing at the same time?

    Graham.

Did you get an email confirmation? I guess they are really busy. Have you tried ringing?

I ordered spuds from them back in Nov, and received my spuds in early Jan.

As its a busy time of year, I guess they're just working through the backlog, and will get there soon.

I did two orders (just seeds) last weekend and everything was fine although the second order didn't give me the same confirmation as the first - but I did get an email about it.

I haven't been on the phone to them yet (email arrived as soon as I finished the order), always feels like I'm having a moan when I do that. After reading a few other posts it looks like spuds may be a bit of an issue this year after the washout that was 2012. I'll give it 'til next week and then start "moaning".

I would say if you had an email confirmation you should be ok. They are just working through orders in order of receiving them, so I doubt you'd hear any more til they turn up on the doorstep! If you didn't get a confirmation or order number think I'd be giving them a phone call.

I think with the panic this year about seed spuds shortage and running out everyone is more on the ball and odering earlier than usual. Would hate to be working in their warehouse!

Ordered seed spuds about 21st along with seeds, got the seeds a couple days ago but still waiting on the seed spuds, but they do state delivery of the seeds spuds can be anytime between jan and march iirc.

i ordered some seeds off of them last week, they charged me more than they should have, but they said they are putting a refund through for me - and the seeds that i ordered arrived today, so when they refund me the correct amount i will be reasonably happy - i will use their site again, but i will not leave it till the last minute on their free p&p day, as i believe thats what caused the problem

Two years ago it took them two months to supply a few seeds as an international order (to France). I kicked up merry hell with them as a result and I think they must have got rid of whoever or whatever company they were using for international dispatch. This year, for example, my seed order arrived within the week!
Delays are fairly common with seed companies, especially with larger items or things which might be out of stock... Graines Baumaux, one of the leading French seed suppliers, got my order on December 23rd and it was only delivered a week ago! Chilterns seeds took almost a month too. So a delay of 10 or 11 days for some spuds doesn't seem excessive to me.

This is typical T&M i stopped using them as their delivery was appalling used to phone up to find out what was happening got the run around so now dont bother other companies out there are not to big for thier boots so use them if i have to buy on line
One of the best places i have found for value for money is Moles Seeds
                          IMHO

Thanks for all the replies, I've never been too keen on T & M but they had the spuds I was looking for, Kings seeds had sold out long ago. Just a bit peed off that they didn't bother to reply to my email and even more pi**ed off that they have already taken the money.

Fingers crossed that the seed spuds turn up soon or the planting chart I took a week to work out and draw will have to be modified. I feel a trip to the garden centre coming on!
