  • anyone else got the blues

anyone else got "cant do much on the lottie blues." tried to throw myself into indoor pursuits, xmas ,cooking, sewing etc but find myself staring out the back bedroom window where i can just glimpse the lotties.Ive taken a walk down there most days to blow away the cobwebs but its so aaahhh at the moment.Seed catalogues arnt doing it for me just make me more anxious to get going and i know i cant.
Begining to think this a real sympton of a real disease. I miss the chats down there and the sun on my back ,perhaps i should turn my plot into a mini eden project and cover it with bubble domes.
Im asking santa for spring for xmas, been ever so good this year, think he will oblidge?

not sure, i keep wandering around my bare garden, with its bare beds all prepared for spring and under cardboard, in the freezing cold, just looking for a sign of anything growing, does that count?

that and standing in my mini-greenhouse watching onion sets and butternut squash surviving

walk up the garden to check on my onions and garlic, if it wasn't so cold I could get on with level the soil for the patio, or sorting out the beds for the front garden, but ground is solid and anyways have two doors to trim and hang a house to clean and decs to go up before the 17th!?!

i have been putting it off all week, have to do the last bit next week cos i don't have all the money yet, but i daren't leave it any longer now unless some stupid bill comes in and steals the money.

its mostly freezer stuff, pickles etc, so nothing major. tins of sweets for all the kids, sauces and gravies for the dinners.

i just do NOT want to do it, cos then i will have to move on to doing the decs....would far rather be digging the beds over again.

Oh yes I got the winter blues!! Always get it this time of year, but seems worse this year. Impossible to get either the garden or the lottie sorted as it's all so wet. P****d off with work, and really need to win the lottery!!

i must be the only one that hasn't then lol ..... i go out every day and cut a broccoli stem or something else tasty for psycho, (they were useless as human food so bunny may as well have them) ...... though i did plant some strawberries and raspberries a couple of weeks ago (havent looked at them since) , and i do get rid of the ice on the pond ....... other than that, i'm more than happy to stay inside, and survey from the window... ready for a day of sun in about july though

Got the blues too. Have really stuggled this year, and still have masses to do to get it ready for spring
Have got some stuff to burn though (has been at home so it is dry) so plan on doing that tomorrow. Also going to empty greenhouse, so I can de-glaze it and move the frame.
Ground is so wet, digging would achieve nothing at the moment.

who wouldn't be happy throwing stones onto a frozen canal? It's cold, but it's fresh! Got my peas in compost ready for pea tops - and only a few weeks to go until sowing toms and onions for next summer.

C'mon everyone - chin up. If you're feeling down - get an eyeful of Seahorses' stockings - what's not to like?

                              Nope. No blues here.

Winter's fine, got enough fat to keep me warm. Soon be Christmas, so OH will be home during the day for a change, for a week, anyway. I've got absolutely loads to do in the garden, but for a change I'm looking forward to it.

Be positive - there's always someone worse off, and at least you're not living in a shed like me!
