  • Any astronomers amongst us?

    OH just got me out of bed to look at the sky... the moon is surrounded by a huge ring. It's a bit difficult to explain, but it's as if there is some sort of barrier forming a perfect (very large) dark circle around the moon. I have tried to take a photo of it but my camera isn't sophisticated enough. Is this a regular thing that I have managed to miss in my 30 something years?

      It's Ok its just the end of the world.

      The old scripts say;
      "when the seller of the pick and mix is no more. So shall the end times start, the vaults will be empty and from the sky will fall a plague of white. The end day will start with a halo around ye moon. Be ye advised not to renew your bus pass."

            If I am wrong you will be watching Eastenders tomorrow.

            If I am right the dead will raise from the ground and the sinners will be swimming in a lake of fire.

                        My old Grandad used to say it was a sign of impending snow. Looks like he was right.

                          My parents always told us it was 'a frozen ring around the moon' which it seems wasn't far from the truth! Looks lovely, doesn't it?

                            We have fantastically clear night skies here- and last night the moon was so bright you could almost read by it!
                            but...I missed the halo !!

                            We've brought out our little telescope- so I'm looking forward to brushing up on my old hobby of star gazing

                              We always used to say it meant a frosty night. I think it actualy means you're already having one!
