  • Another Year: allotment film

Anyone seen the new Mike Leigh film yet? It's based around a couple & their allotment I think

Thanks TS, I'll look out for that, the trailer makes it look an excellent film.

Hmm sometimes I like his stuff, often ending with a bitter sweet twist of reality.

It's meant to be his best yet (but then I prefer bittersweet to Hollywood shmaltz)

I'm finally watching this movie (I only watch fillums when I'm poorly) and I'm loving it, it's like a big fluffy cuddle blankie

There isn't much about the allotment though, it's just in the background

I'd forgotten all about this TS, thanks for the reminder. Hope you've got a poorly blanket to watch in comfort.

I loved the way that the allotment changed over the seasons and was part of the couples caring nature, tending to their allotment in all weathers and the fact their grown up son helped them out on it too.
Lovely film, gentle and quite sad in parts.
