Ok, so I only managed to get to the plot to harvest what was left of my parsnips and celeriac over the weekend, but it certainly lifted the spirits.

Yes, mine is my little haven of tranquility (unless my know it all neighbour who never stops talking turns up!!!).

In the last six months, we have had a 'Gardeners Association' start up in our town (actually a large village) and they are trying to get some lotties sorted out. I am really hoping that one of the latest bits of land suggested will be acquired as it is only a few hundred yards from our house (right behind the graveyard) and next to the garden centre
I love growing in the garden but having read Terry Walton's book, I rather fancy trying out the companionship that seems to come from lottie growing.Happy Gardening,

I sooooooooo want to get down to my lottie. I visited it yesterday just to pick up a couple of things to give to OH'S niece for her to grow and to give back something borrowed. The weather has been sunny and quie warm.
It will be a few weeks before I can do anything. Hoping to get OH to put in the extra fence posts he bought me and maybe get him to sort out the path and lay some paving slabs that we got ages ago. Pigs might fly though. lolGardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache

I've missed it sooooo much!
My over-winter onions and garlic have lovely healthy green shoots, and my PSB had a beautiful purple head just ready to cut...
Some bits are in a state, but I'm feeling much more hopeful that they'll be sorted in time.
Just got to work out how to chit some potatoes without the kittens playing games with them now

I managed to get to mine twice this weekend It was soooooo lovely.
OH built some duck boards for the paths and built two more raised beds. The weather was beautiful and really warm in the sunshine. It felt so good to be up there, and a lovely couple came over to introduce themselves and speak to the "experts" we pointed out to them that this was only our 7th visit to the allotment since we took it over in October. They still thought we were experts as they only took their's over that morning!!! (ok I suppose it is all relative!)
I met so many different people on each day, most of whom were also building their raised beds (some looked so professional) we've been using the scraps of wood that have come out of my parents building work, Old door frames etc. We plan to replace them all with treated timber when we can afford it!
But I ache so much today my neck and shoulders feel as if they're in the middle of a vice like grip! LOL! Looks like a cold snap again towards the end of the week so shall do some indoor seed sowing I think before my next visit.Comment

I am so happy now that I can get work done on my plot, my only problem is tearing myself away from it - the family got quite cross with me yesterday as they were all sitting in the car waiting for me, as I did 'one last bit of digging' (bearing in mind I said I'd finish about 15 mins previously..!)
I have to restrain myself from spending the day there today, as I have loads of other things to do (what with the rowing training and the plot, the house is looking decidedly neglected
), but the sun is shining, so it's a bit like there is a large magnet pulling me down there. I won't spend too long down there, honest guv...
As my plot is in a field belonging to a friend I don't have any company apart from the hens and the lambs, but I quite like it that way - I get more done!Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.Comment

I dont have an allotment but spent the weekend in the garden. Put up hoops for netting, (piping curtesy of Selfraising). Put up poles for pea netting.
All in all had a lovely time and feel so good about itWPC F Hobbit, Shire police

Haven't been to mine for a week or two - just a quick nip in to harvest chard. Busy with the garden and making chook-space! However, I hope to have another good dig later in the week. Trouble with being retired though - there's always too much to do. I can't understand people who are scared of retiring because they won't know what to do with their time. If I ever turn on the TV in the day - you can all line up to shoot me!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I was at mine for a good while yesterday , getting my strawberry bed ready to transplant some plants .
I know the weathers going to change hoping to get there for some more peace
