  • All I seem to be doing...

... is clearing out sheds, tidying rubbish from the plot, adding compostables to the copmpost bins and generally preparing things for the coming growing season.

When oh when will I find the time to sow seeds, set up grow lights and heated propagators etc ?

Its a nightmare I tells ya!

Stop making excuses - its dark now, you can't be down the plot, so set up your props and lights and sow some seeds.
You know you'll feel better for it.

I'm more or less banned from windowsill sowing - perhaps might get away with a few in the converted carport - but its a bit of a longshot.
I'm mildly in the doghouse (again) (not sure how that keeps happening as Mrs Baldy is very forgiving as a rule) so its a bit "softly softly catchy monkey" with regards to one of my afflictions (seed sowing).
It would seem I need to get the man-shed sorted - probably going to be too cold there for a while but that's likely where the new grow lights will have to end up. Its got electricity so maybe end of Feb. the heated props in some sort of insulated box might be a go-err.
Her indoors has also got a bee in her bonnet about utility bills at the moment - so if she can't see the LED's... hrmm
My life is rarely as straightforward as it might be - again, no idea why that is the case

Best you get your man-shed sorted asap then you can hide away from Mrs B and sow some seeds.

What do your LEDs actually cost to run? It might be persuasive to mention in conversation if <5p/day?

Personally, OH wanders round switching things off, so growlights unlikely to work well for me. I clearly need a shed!

I'm just watching the weeds and grass grow. Total shambles.

And way too cold here to be thinking about sowing seeds yet.

Balders I feel your pain, I have a Triffid a little like yours who will always manage to find me something she needs me to do urgently when I even suggest sorting out the shed, sowing seeds or god forbit visiting the Allotment twice in two days.

I start some of mine off by lowering the door on the boiler and putting the seed trays on it. Not too many as i’d break the door. Mind you, I don’t have another half to complain.

Currently looking at the garden and thinking it needs a good digging over, poly tunnel put up and turf laid. I lay awake last night planning a water feature. I’ve had the pond liner for ages, it’s currently looking after a rose bush that’s being resited.

I no longer have an other half to annoy with my seed sowing/grow lights. So on the plus side, my grow lights are now in the living room and the propagator is moving from the cold kitchen to the south-facing spare room. Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!
