I can only really comment on Blogger (free from Google) as it's the one I use.

Easy to set up, easy to use and free. Ticks all the boxes for me.

I concur! It's easy to post and edit and you can add endless pictures (great for kids)

Blogger is probably best for your needs.

Mine was run by Wordpress on one of my servers but I have removed it as it was all going to pot.

Just a quick mention about the help section. It really is good, because as you notice a lot of people have different applications. There is some really good advice from users on how to add these.
Niether Mrs TK or myself are computer wizards, but we managed to add some extras without too much trouble.

I have been trying to get one going with Blogger. I have trouble getting onto the screens that I want. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I quite often click to create a new post, The screen flashes up briefly, then disappears. It is very frustrating.

Sounds like you may have a virus - my kids use blogger and they don't have any trouble.

Loging out and loging in again sometimes helps.

It seems to be directly linked to google-analytics, which I have started another thread about. I am running a virus scan to see what comes up.

I would recommend wordpress as thats what I use. I did use blogger a few years ago but had issues with blogging with pictures. I've no doubt these issues have been ironed out so it depends on which you feel more comfortable with.
