    RANT

I made two courgette/squash beds by digging pits, filling with compostable matter and covering over. It was quite a laborious task. I told the nice lady I share the lottie with about them, what I'd done and why and showed her where they were.

So WHY did she let her kids dig random holes in them and destroy the layers?

(They were nice deep holes too. Shame I'm not planting trees this year).

She's not a gardener then - this lady you share a plot with?

Glad I dont share I let my grandson aged 6 years dig recently on my plot but he was told in no uncertain terms where he was allowed to dig, and he put a plank to mark out the boundry.

TPeers - she's lovely. Scatty but lovely. Drives me mental. I'm quite sure she thinks I'm a control freak! Maybe I am...

Jackie - the kids probably were told where they were allowed to dig but wouldn't understand that one empty bed isn't the same as another!

Oh well, look on the bright side - she is trying to get her kids interested in the great outdoors and gardening.

Unfortunate to have the hard work spoilt - but you should still get a good crop from the courgettes - they don't know the layer cake was ment for them!
