The thought of a dudi the size of a small child brought tears to my eyes Put me off actually!

But with these ones they're not bottle shaped. A bottle shaped dudi is a pain to manage.

That's an interesting selection, Jay-ell. I didn't go for anything very exotic his year, just things I liked the look of or read good things about. And varieties that I didn't already try, which eliminates some good ones.

So I ordered some short beans with small pretty red seeds (Montezuma's) and some tall beans with big pretty multicolour seeds (Hidatsa Shield), plus Jordanian cucumbers, Carruthers' purple podded peas, Stoke lettuces and Lumpy Red tomatoes (which aren't really very lumpy and might actually be pink).

I was tempted by the long thin Dudi since it comes from Slovenia, which isn't Slovakia but getting somewhere near. And I rather fancied the Perovka field beans. And I lingered over the Australian Brown onions and the Black German kale. And it was a toss-up between the Hidatsa Shields and the San Antonios. And several other bean varieties caught my eye. And I thought about getting more of the Sucrette squash since I only got 3 seeds last time (which I didn't sow yet).

But I could only choose 6. Plus a lucky dip which might turn out to be be something I fancied.

The family is just about getting used to the fact that I grow purple carrots - so I can mix it up a bit and slip a couple of beetroots in to keep them on their guard. Same goes for the chilli shaped tomatoes and tomato shaped chillies.

There were loads of interest so went through my filing cabinet of seeds to work out what to order.

Ask Snadge for some Vince tomato seeds so you can grow a tomato that looks like a yellow pepper.
