  • Whats your easiest way to remove tap root weeds?

I bought some round up a little white ago the touch stuff and tried it on a few weeds which hasn't died :/ So I've invested in a lawn trowel. Its canny and its getting the job done and a few of the weeds has come out whole tap but im wondering what's your best way to get em out?

A deep root weeder but it still doesn't get out the really big ones. BTW how long did you leave the round up touch before you decided it didn't work? It can take up to two weeks for the weeds to start to die if they are big.

I have a friend who uses a big screwdriver! She shoves it down the centre of the root, twists it and pulls. I've not tried it though.

I've heard a few people mention the screwdriver method but I don't understand how it'd work, surely it'd just slid right out again? I'll have to give it a go..
I currently use a multi tool thingy that's long sharp and thin. And for the roots that go crazy deep it has a serrated edge so I saw through them (some of the dock roots on my plot are the size of tree trunks!)

She uses a Philips head, not the flat sort, and it's quite large. I think the twist and pull (at an angle) is what gets it out. Like I say, I haven't tried it. Yet!

There's one way to find out! You can always give it back if it doesn't work!

And always try to do it when the ground is not baked solid.
