  • patchy brown bits on new lawn

    Hi to all .
I have just put down a new lawn using good quality turf , but after following
advice about watering etc , I now have some light brown patches in a few places on the new lawn. The turf has strongly rooted to the existing ground.
So could the good people of this website /forum please give me some advice as i have never laid turf before .
    Many thanks in advance

Could you have crane fly lavae (daddy longlegs)
    They produce dead patches.

Have you used any fertiliser? Lack of water causes brown patches in this sun but also too much water? Do the brown areas feel saturated with water or dry? It could be that it needs to dry a bit? Keeping it green in this summer sun is difficult for any lawn, most the lawns round here go brown then back to green in the autumn, have you tried asking the people where you bought it from?
