No idea re price...but yes, quotes etc would have to be by pm and GYO would not in any way be connected to any contracts undertaken.

It might be cheaper & easier to get one of the lawn care firms to have a look at your existing one, to do a proper job of returfing you will need to remove (& dispose of) your existing grass layer.

I would agree with BB. I 've never had my lawn professionally maintained but know that other family members have been really impressed by what has been achieved from a seemingly impossible start. Might be worth comparing the cost of both options.

My bit of grass looks awful at this time of year. I blame it on the rain, mole hills and dogs.
It'll pick up again when the warmer weather arrives and things start growing again. I'm sure yours will too. You could "patch" the worst bits with turf or grass seed.

Im going to patch for the time being, prob till sept/oct but its really annoying me as it has more weeds in now than what it did have previous.

My neighbour over the road had one of those lawn care guys to come and feed, weed and what ever else they do to it last Spring...it was gorgeous all Summer. Well worth the money.

You will struggle to get a pure rye grass turf! A lot of turf grass species are stoloniferous or ryesometus which allows them to knit together either below ground or above and form a turf. Rhygrass is a hardwearing grass but won't knit together to form a turf unless it is grown in mesh as it grows vertically
If you want a turf type perennial ryegrass hard wearing lawn, your best bet is to use seed. You won't be able to cut it below 25mm though

Sown at a rate of 35Gm2 you would only need about 2.5 to 3Kg of seed.
