Do weevils eat lettuces?

    Adult weevils will eat notches from the edges of many different leaves, but they never produce holes in the middle.

    I imagine it will be small slugs. Just because you can't see any, doesn't mean they're not there. Slugs are very good at hiding, especially the small ones.

    Do weevils eat lettuces?

    I am puzzled by the appearance of holes in my lettuces on one side of the polytunnel but not on the other. I found a "vine weevil" on a lettuce I harvested but no caterpillars or slugs?

    Can you get an idea of the pest from the holes? These were sporadic and in the leaf, not from the edge in??
