  • Safest wood stain/preservative for raised beds

Have managed to build 4 raised beds from recycled timber and they look pretty good if I say so myself (actually OH must take the credit as he built them ). To make them look a bit nicer I'd like to paint them with a wood stain or preservative. I have some Cuprinol rollable shed and fence stuff left over from another job, and it says 'safe for plants' but no idea if it's actually safe for a bed that will be growing edibles. Can anyone suggest the best stuff for the job?

We use Sadolin rather than Cuprinol for all our wood, it's supposed to be more environmentally friendly, but you might have to repaint more often.

Post us some pics of your raised beds!
