I thought soldier beetles were a different colour, but having found this brill ID chart of all types of soldier beetles I agree.

Could be soldier beetles, they eat pests & help pollinate. There was a hedgehog in the front garden at about 10.30pm just now

Just found out what it is....a peach blossom moth!
https://butterfly-conservation.org/moths/peach-blossom
Funnily enough we have a tiny peach tree just under our bedroom window.
We were thinking of pulling it out as itβs not produced fruit for years...frosts and peach leaf curl every year and itβs more like a stick with curly red leaves for most of the summer
Think I might just hang on to it now though

Loving that the front garden is starting to buzz with bees. Once it gets to summer itβs a constant sound. They seem to love the aqualegia and alliums were popular too. Less happy to see one of my lupins absolutely covered in aphids. Had the same problem last year on another lupin and found the only way to ge rid of them was bug spray. So I gave it a good go.

A pair of mallards awaiting a flood in Worksop town centre like the one that wiped out a fleet of post office vans close by in 2019.
This is not a good sign if those ducks are right
