I have a feeling if they banned slug pellets there might be more Thrushes around, plenty up here in our village, there's only 3 of us grow veggies and don't use pellets.

Our local loch is best known for a pair of Ospreys nesting on an island, but to maintain the loch side environment they use Hairy Coos, gardening, but not as we might know it.

Over the last few days I have had a frog jump out of the tool shed doorway and land on the edge of the rubbish bin.
A speckled wood got stuck in the greenhouse and a tortoise shell on a self seeded pansy.

A pair of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers and for once had 300mm to hand!
Male was there for ages but hen was off pdq.
They visit quite frequently but don't usually wait for photos!

Thanks, Bren In Pots. It is odd. I can see Mr Bones' photo but not mothhawk's at post 234.

And can anyone identify this butterfly? It was as dark underneath as it was on top. I thought maybe a blue of some sort but they all seem to have pale undersides. It was small like a blue though.
