Sowed around 75 tomato seeds yesterday. I need to pot on geraniums, marigolds, peppers & two balconi red tomato seedlings & sow sweet peas, broad beans & a lot of French marigolds. I found the Robin Hood broad beans at the garden centre last Friday so thought I’d try them, supposed to be good in containers although I’ll probably need the containers for 75 tomato plants

Up here in Walrus land( did you see there's one turned up in Ireland !!) we are getting decent daylight length, but the temperature swings are still too great, yesterday in my greenhouse 18 degrees, lovely, overnight, minus 1, not so lovely, I am sitting on my hands, I really cannot start yet this year.

No gardening time yesterday
Friday jobs
Check allotment for wind damage

Remove mushrooms from compost in pots sown with peppers and tomatoes*
Harvest romanesco, carrots
*this compost was from a half used bag stored over winter in the garage, something I have done numerous times before. The mushrooms are pushing the compost up and out of the pots (some are upto an inch across) and I have no idea if the seeds will survive.
