ok shoot me ....... i love our foxes, we have a pair, they come in the garden at night and eat the food i put out for them ...... but then i also put peanuts out for the grey squirrels, save mice from cats and release them, and feed the birds ...... *ducks and hides*

wait till they've squashed your crops!.. I quite liked them yesterday, today I'm scouring the internet for an air rifle
Got no problem with bird feeding, they are fed in a different part of the garden to the veggies. Will not feed grey squirrels..will eat them though. Foxes, Grey Squirrels, Rabbits...vermin the lot of them.
Grey squirrels damage trees to the extent that they kill them by bark-stripping, unlike beavers who do a form of natural coppicing.
Saying that, foxes, greys and rabbits have a use...their fur is nice and warm in the winter. (No I don't care about wearing fur as long it is vermin fur)
thats why i have some metal fencing sheets to go in, mind you, they've never squished my flowers ........ and yeah i'd be a bit peeved, but if you knew you had foxes you should make allowances for that ...... sorry not having a dig but air rifles will probably not kill them, and they will be in agony ...... put up a bigger fence so they can't get in, or get one of those water spray things that squirt them when they come in the garden.
I know a few people who have welcomed foxes into their gardens - feeding them etc. but then later regretted it immensly. It may seem a bit of a novelty at first but you will regret it! Grey squirrels are a major pest though - no-one should welcome them into the garden unless you intend shooting them and making into a burger!
My mind not only wanders - sometimes it leaves me completely

the air rifle was a joke
bigger fence?.. its 6 foot already, we'd get no sun in the garden if it went much bigger!
I've spotted a ultrasonic thingy for 25 quid, so thats getting bought tomorrow, the cat flap is getting blocked up at night and if that doesn't work well we're stuck with it.
they are an absolute pain though, aside from the garden they spend every thursday night ripping open the dustbin bags we now have to put out and consequently flinging cat litter all over the pavement. I swear there are more foxes living in Abbey wood than there are in the rest of the country
It is illegal to shoot foxes with an air rifle - Lynda is quite right it only injures them the pellet will lodge itself in the flesh of the animal which will then die some time later after a lot of suffering - a rim fire rifle minimum is require dto despatch humanely.

well i've been doing it for 3 1/2 years, and i don't regret it for a moment ...... so there, granted i would prefer red squirrels, but its not the grey squirrels fault they were released here, they are still very cute and funny.
