The last couple kilos of carrots.
Purple sprouting broccoli.
It looks like the pigeons have finally found it and the kale. It went all winter without being touched, and now in the last week the upper leaves and a lot of the florets have been shredded, so I can only assume whatever the pigeons were eating before has run out.
Not today, but yesterday, the last day of February, I picked the first of this year's rhubarb. I made the compulsory rhubarb and ginger crumble for afters.
Oca from the patio container - about 1kg and all a good eating size. These have been in the ground for a whole year, planted up from the scribbly dregs of seed Oca I had left after planting my main crop on the allotment. They are all quite a good size with a couple of big ones approaching salad potato size. I’ve concluded that container growing = cleaner tubers and leaving them to grow on for a few extra months make a big difference to yield.
