I've never done this before - always saved plenty of seeds but never joined in. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring please (if i qualify of course!)

Count me in. I skipped this year due to the sheer number of seeds I got last year in the swap. 50 different types was it? It was a crazy amount whatever the actual number was. Not sure what I'm growing this year yet but I'll be in.

Yes I’ll be in again please Ms T not sure what I’m growing yet. I don’t know much about the phytosanitary certificate but I read it’s needed for seeds to the EU but is it just a matter of sending the seeds to the certificate people, then they send them back with a certificate,I don’t know about costs,it shouldn’t be too much or it would stop happening? Does anyone know how much the service costs,it seems like a reasonable thing to do to stop the spread of pest & disease so I’d pay a few pounds for the certificate?

I phoned the centre for international trade to ask “if I send seeds to a friend in France do I need a phytosanitary certificate” because on the gov website it says -
‘The UK has 4 plant health authorities you can use to check if plants and plant products you intend to export need to be accompanied by a PC.’
The lady asked me how often,I said it’s once a year with about twenty varieties of tomato, she wasn’t sure & said she’d phone me back, she phoned about 15 minutes later & said for me to email plant health info, she gave me the email address & it’s the email address of where I was phoning. I feel like she didn’t really help me because I’m at square one still but I’ll email them soon & maybe someone there will know?

JJ...that's really touching that you went to that effort for me ....Thank you xx Really appreciated x

As Ms_ T suggests- maybe they don't know for sure until the fine print has been sorted?
I'm staying positive on this and will look out for unusual varieties to share on here

I sent them an email yesterday with all the info,I’ll let you know the reply when it comes. I don’t know what I’m growing this year yet,I might get all my seeds & write a list of all the varieties I’ve got with dates, then sow all of them probably hahaha

any of you lot grow Kenilworth? I wondered what its like as I used to drive thru the place to work everyday ... Not this year I don't think but next year I might join in

                          I've got
                          Golden Sunrise
Moneymaker ( cos my dad always grew it )
                          Gardeners Delight (My old favourite)
                          and San Marzano

plus the obligatory Sungold bu thats an F1

I used to grow a white one that was quite tasty that was about the same size as gardeners delight but I'm not sure what happened to the seeds ...

if you want to join in , your Golden Sunrise would be a good one.
and San Marzano would be ok.

                              Moneymaker
Gardeners Delight .you get them on mags alot ,so not good ones to swap.
