  • The Tomato Seed Circle 2019

    Yep! It's that time again

C'mon you know you want to join there's nothing better than a parcel through the door around Christmas time full of seeds there's no better present. Everyone welcome.

Save 2 varieties of tomatoes (no F1's) with 6-8 seeds per pack. Last year we had to save 12 packs of each variety. I'm happy to reduce to one variety if we can double our numbers??!!

No pressure, register your interest - and the tomatoes you fancy saving if you know what you are going to grow

#things don't often go to plan while growing so you can change your mind on what varieties you are saving. Remember there's loads of seeds in a cherry Tom, so you only have to save one or two but you do have to label them!

          I'll let you off SP!

Chrissy, most tomatoes are acceptable but lots of us get the monthly mag and the same tomatoes are offered every year....money maker is one of them.
Also most people have gardeners delight - I sow it most years and so do most other tomato growers I know so seed for that one is usually plentiful.
Put your list up....there will one or two you can save I'm sure. If you haven't got one I'm sure I could send you something

Thank you VC - you are in at number 1!

                        # Chrissy ( - VC got in before me) think you are ok with any of those - but brandywine May be more difficult than the others. Larger toms often don't have huge amount of seeds. Cherry toms are loaded

I bought Goose Creek because I like the name
The others came from a Seed Swap so I know little about them.
I'll probably grow that Thompson's Seedless Grape too but I'll let Chrissy save those.

Yes I'm defiantly in this year and will sort out what I'm saving after I've sorted out what I'm growing this year, I will defiantly be doing the min and micro toms in the greenhouses again, and will save seed from some of those varieties I got from the VSP so they can go back into the VSP as well as the seed circle.
