Coriander

Hi all

I cut a majority of my coriander for a curry but they never grew back or having trouble 2 , is this common ,

what could be the problem ?

You've taken too much of the plant and weakened it. If you've cut the central stem it won't regrow.

Never been able to grow it past the "microgreens" stage, so well done to get this far!

Follow other's advice but rest assured if it did grow back it'd bolt Not that I'm jealous or anything (Mods, we need a green envious emoji...)

Main roots havent be cut just 85 percents of the leaves and the thin stems , May It will take a few weeks to grow back

It can take a few weeks to grow back, maybe sow again Tarragon it grows better in the second half of summer. if you leave one or two plants to go to seed they'll provide all the seed you need for a couple of years. Last year one plant for us produced almost half a litre of seed.

I have actually sowed some more coriander a week ago and its starting to sprout I will do so again early july then August and maybe mid august to see me through part of the autumn if possible

It's nigh-on impossible to grow one coriander plant and get it to supply all your needs for any length of time. It has a strong tendency to bolt. Your best bet is to treat coriander like lettuce and keep starting off new seeds for a successional supply. If you grow it in the ground, letting it self-seed also helps.

Yes you've over harvested the corriander - there's a good chance it won't recover.

When you say shady area how much shade do you mean ,

I may buy another Lovage plant , what size pot do you think I should plant it in

Coriander I will give it another week or so to show signs of life as I will be in the 90s here

Mint I just replanted so will we see in a week

One lovage is usually more than enough. Did you read your own thread - ESPECIALLY the bits about the size of the plant? How big a pot do you think a plant that grows 6-10 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide would need?
