  • Good strongly scented lavenders?

Can anyone recommend some lavenders for me please? Particularly nice strong scent because I plan to treat the flowers as a harvest, dry them and use them for making bath bombs, oat and herb bath bags and the like.

    Many thanks peeps

Try - Lavandula angustifolia Hidcote - 'English Lavender' Silver-grey narrow leaves and masses of violet flower spikes from July to September. Foliage and flowers heavily perfumed. Plant in well-drained soil which is not too fertile. A versatile plant which can be used in containers, shrub borders, rock gardens or as a low hedge.

I have a large plant (3' x 4') in my front South facing garden and the scent is heavenly.

Lovely, thanks. I have taken some cuttings from my two exisitng lavenders and they have taken well, but don't know the variety.

If I buy a couple of good healthy plants at a nursery now I know which ones to look for. I can take more cuttings when they are established to increase how many I have. Am all fired with enthusiasm for the plot again now. Perrenial crops doesn't always have to be veggies does it!

No it doesn't - this year my polytunnel will be turned over to shrubs and plants as propagating this year has been very successful
