What about buying the windowsill herbs that the supermarkets sell, you can grow them on if you harden them off first

Wyevale are doing an offer at present of 5 herbs for a tenner. Nice big plants in 5 inch pots.

That's still a bit dear for me, I'm sure I paid arounjd £3 for pack of 6 different herbs.

You should be able to buy them from B&Q from end of March onwards.

These are only 49p and I have corriander and mint growing merrily in pots. You do have to introduce them to the outdoors gradually, mine went from the windowsill to the conservatory to my plastic greenhouse then outdoors. They are big plants for 49p.

The offers seem to come and go. I've seen the 3 for £5 deal this year so no doubt its on all the time somewhere, just down to stock levels? I'm sure its the same supplier that provides fro Wyvale because the pots are exactly the same. Good value IMO.

From my experience running garden departments at B&Q, I'd hold off for a couple of weeks. Easter is B&Q's big time trading period of the year and all the stock will be heading towards the stores for the end of the month.

B&Q are selling pots of herbs for £1.98 or 3 for a fiver, they are big plants, good value for money.

They were in our local B&Q last week. Good selection.

Get down to Asda and they have them for 99p each!!

They have quite a good selection. I picked some up a few weeks ago. Planted them all out but the Basil died (my first time with herbs).
