Why don't you tell us what you're looking for as it might help us suggest places?

Saw some nice camellias in M0rris0ns, this afternoon - £8. Don't know whether that's a good price though?

Well, I'm not totally sure yet, but my list so far includes:

      Gertrude Jekyl rose
Lonicera × purpusii 'Winter Beauty' - honeysuckle 'Winter Beauty'
Sarcococca hookeriana var. humilis - dwarf sweet box
Buddleja 'Lochinch' - butterfly bush 'Lochinch

And maybe Vinca minor 'Atropurpurea' - dark purple-flowered periwinkle.

      All quite specific...

Don't know about specific plants as they start getting pricey online with p+p and no company ever seems to do all the ones you want.

If your neighbours lack inspiration how about visiting some ngs gardens. Sometimes you can get plants that are surplus or occasionally you can scrounge cuttings. https://www.ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden...ance_radius=25

        Shady plants

        Jacobs ladder
        hosta
        hydrangeas
        astrantia
        aquilegia
        alchemilla mollis
        ferns
spring bulbs (done by the time tree canopies grow in)

If you've chosen these from the RHS Plants list, click on the names and it comes up with a list of suppliers and a map so you can search for your nearest one.

I've got the purpusi - can't say I'd recommend it, as its not really that outstanding in my opinion - may be winter-sweet if you're look for a shrub with wither fragrance ?

If you fancy another rose, I've found that "Iceberg" does ok in shade.

Thanks for the continued thoughts all, I'm open to other suggestions! And yes, I'm struggling to find one supplier that does everything I'm (currently) interested in.

Good thought of the NGS Norfolkgrey, I hadn't realised how many gardens there were quite close to me - good for inspiration even if they don't have plants for sale...

RHS gardens often have plants for sale too.
Or go to the Spring shows - like Cardiff or Malvern. Lots of plant suppliers there.
