I have my various Haworthia in large plastic flower pots in the garden. I occasionally water them but they seem to thrive OK on the morning dew. They are potted in ordinary garden soil and get midday and afternoon sun. They have survived very hot days and being covered with snow. I think a lot of the growing conditions for succulents are exaggerated, leave them alone, they will survive.

Can't give a pot size as don't know how big plant is. You don't want to overpot. I'd use a pot that gives about 1cm bare compost around plant when you look down on it.Originally posted by Jimny14 View PostHow big a pot should I go up to? Can you put it in too big a pot?
I'd be inclined to leave offsets to get bigger but if there a lots you could always try a couple.
Add 25 to 50% grit, perlite or coarse sand to compost.

It's not monocarpic so won't die. You're lucky it's lived so long in that bucket. If you put it in a pot at least 2x size of bucket it'll form nice clump. If you leave it in the bucket you risk killing it by overwatering.Originally posted by Jimny14 View PostThey're not the fastest growers in the world

Sorry no idea as mine need sorting when it gets warmer. Lot of succulents will fill whatever size pan you give them. It's ultimately down to how much room you've got.
For low growers container can be as wide as you want but relatively shallow.
Unless you are growing for competition it doesn't matter if they overflow. It just makes it more difficult to spot nasties like mealy bug.Riddlesdown (S Croydon)
