Morning Glory

A friend has given me some Morning Glory seeds....yea? and? Where do I sow them, do they need to be propagted first? Where should I plant them out and do they need supports?

I have no intructions on the bag, just a plain brown paper bag

I grew some beautiful sky blue coloured Morning Glory last year. I didnt have much idea back then over what to do with anything.
I started it off in the kitchen and before I knew it, it was hauling itself up the string blind pull, so yes, give them some support.
If I remember correct, there was a very small germination rate which disappointed me.
When I planted it out it struggled, I think it was in a too shady area, but still gave regular beautiful blooms in the mornings which had faded by the time I got home in the evenings. So put it somewhere that you can see each morning.

Sow them now thinly covered with light compost they only take 3 or 4 days to come through...jacob

Thanks weekendwellies Just googled them and the flowers are so pretty...I'll pop some in now and see how fast they grow, Off to garden centre on sat so that's another big pot on the list and I might buy a nice cane wigwam for them to grow up....I like those big trumpet type flowers...That way I can sit it outside my patio doors...gets lots of sun there.

I soaked mine for 24hrs before planting and they were beginning to sprout when I sowed them. They turned into seedlings in 3/4 days. I think I got about 75/80% germination.

I soak mine overnight too, pretty good in germinating , about 75% came up and very pretty, great colours !

Morning Glory.

When mine die off at the end of the year, I just c rush the dry plants in my hand so the seeds fall onto the ground. Then I leave 'em to do their own thing. Not so sure what will happen this time round as we had some evil frosts.
