Always a bit of a panic to hear new outbreaks.
But at least this one shows that there are responsible peeps controlling the situation

Sad that's its starting again for this winter. Hope it doesn't become more widespread.

Its OK at the moment but there's advice on precautions to take at https://assets.publishing.service.go...ter-170911.pdf

When there was a serious outbreak a year or 2 ago, chooks had to be separated from wild birds. You'll probably be OK as yours are in a run but the netting needs to be small enough mesh to keep wild birds out. Its as well to think about how you'd do it now, in case we have to do it in winter.

OK thanks VC. Seems like i am in a high risk area. Possibly due to migrating birds flying over? What are the precautions that i need to take? Not allow wild birds have any contact with the hens?
