I feel I have to speak out in favour of bantams! It does depend on the breed, but my bantams have been the most characterful and beautiful chickens I have had. Some breeds are more flighty than others of course. The eggs are a bit smaller but much better for baking, because there is a bigger yolk compared to the white, and you'll marvel at how golden yellow your pancakes are!

The banty I had last year wasn't very friendly, but I'll vouch for hybrid hens being the opposite. Bantam eggs are very tasty though and they are pretty little hens.Originally posted by yoanbob View Postits a date! lol, not sure how much brains I've got but would be happy to help you learn by my mistakes.
I would get 3 spekaldys, but if they have warrens get a mix, warrens are much friendlier. but thats just because i'm not a big fan of bantamsLast edited by kirsty b; 09-01-2008, 08:49 PM.Kirsty b xx
