Pieris root ball halving??

Can anyone tell me if the Pieris forest flame can be moved and the root ball halved to achieve two seperate plants? My daughter has to move her hedge and has a large pieris growing, its always lovely, but needs to be moved to a seperate location, it is also rather large, she has asked me if she can chop the rootball in half to achieve two plants?

It'll be growing from just one root so chopping it in half might just kill it! If you move it give it lots of water and remember it if we have a dry summer!
