It's better to prune the trees in spring (march) because they can resist disease better.

Hello. You are lucky! You can store apples in boxes seperated by screwed up newspaper in a cool area, like a shed or out building.
Apple pie, apple strudel, apple crumble, baked apples with oats and dried fruit mmm. apple sauce. ( all can be frozen except baked apples) Yummy. And CIDERLast edited by mazel-bee; 25-11-2006, 12:29 PM.

Storing Apples
Morning all! I am lucky enough to have two beautiful apple trees. They have lost all their leaves now but are still full of rosy red apples and I thought I would gather them all in this weekend before the birds eat them all.
So - can you help please....
How do I store the apples?
Can I make anything other than apple pies with them?
Do I need to prune the trees?
Thankyou!!!
