  • Pear pollination?

Are pears self-fertile? Having waited 18 years for my crab apple to be cross-polinated this is a sensitive issue with me.

It would seem a lot are self fertile, but not all, do you know what type it is? Have a look at this site

      A lot?
I was under the distinct impression that very few were self-fertile.
As far as I am aware, Conference is the only one which is strongly self-fertile, and a few more are somewhat self-fertile, like Williams, and Conference offspring like Concorde.

There’s a fruit tree pollination checker in this link, put in your tree & it comes up with suitable trees that will help pollinate them.
